Presented at HiEnd Asia in Singapore in 2025, the Unio Poki is the first Ethernet switch from the Hong Kong-based company Ungnoi.
Their specialty? Vibration control in Hi-Fi; and looking at the meticulous care poured into the Poki, one is easily convinced.
First contact reveals a massive chassis (3.2 kg), the upper part of which is CNC-machined from a single block of aluminum (the top cover and three sides are all one single piece).
The base and rear panel are also made of aluminum, showcasing a remarkable overall build quality.
Breaking with convention, the Poki features four 2.5 Gbit/s LAN ports, one 1 Gbit/s "Zen Zone" port with isolated processing, another 10 Gbit/s / 1 Gbit/s SFP port, and a 50 Ξ© 10 MHz BNC Clock In.
Power is supplied via a 12 V DC external block, completed by a dedicated grounding terminal. Internally, signals are shaped and re-clocked by an ultra-low phase noise clock, ensuring data reliability across all transmission speeds.
The internal wiring is exceptionally neat, utilizing Japanese carbon fiber to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI).
When listening, the results are laudable at 2.5 Gbps, timbres display rare complexity and the soundstage shows remarkable deepening, with organic presence and fine details.
When streaming through the "Zen Zone" port, sonic acuity takes a massive leap forward, though there is a slight loss in suppleness. The King's Choice.
